Mike Little is a deejay from Anderson, South Carolina and is a member of the Electric
City Shag Club in Anderson where he deejays for the club on a regular basis. as well as a member of the Carolina Shag Club
in Greenville. He was a highly rated radio deejay for WANS AM Radio for 3-1/2
years. He writes articles for several publications, including the newsletters
of the Association of Beach & Shag Club Deejays (ABSCDJ) and the National Association of Rhythm & Blues Deejays (NARBDJ),
for both of which he is a member. He also writes articles for the Website, beachmusic45.com,
as well as the SOS publication, Carefree Times. In 2003, he received the NARNDJ's
Rufus Oates Award. In 2017 he was inducted into the Deejays Hall of Fame as an
honorary member by the ABSCDJ. Also in 2017, he was inducted into the Greenville
Area Shaggers Hall of Fame as an honorary member. He also serves on the advisory
Board of Directors of the Carolina Beach Music Awards.

The Spring Safari of SOS, the Society of Stranders, in the
Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach, comes from South Carolina, officially ended the last Saturday night of April. The Beach Music and Shag Dance mass has left.
Even so, The Coastline Band played Sunday at Fat Harold's. The OD Pavilion
had somewhat of a crowd with dancers shuffling to the music of 50's and 60's and beyond on the newly installed dance floor. Only memories of the 2018 Spring Safari come from Smart Phones with the videos
that were created and, of course, the music. Have you heard about the CD releases
during the week? There were five CD's released prior to and during the week.
KHP Records introduced two new compilation during the Spring
Safari of SOS. As Never Throw Your Dreams Away began to evolve, it was
determined that there were too many good songs were available, therefore,
two compilations were introduced, the second being Slice Of Life. Here
are capsules of the releases.
Never Throw
Your Dreams Away is the title track for the album, Never Throw Your Dreams Away.
The song is presented to you from Rhonda McDaniel, and the album is dedicated to Rhonda's late husband, Dennis McDaniel,
whom we lost this past August. Dennis was very dedicate and supportive to Rhonda's
music career, often traveling with her to her venues. One of the hottest songs
played during the week comes from ...Dreams..., that being Old Time Saturday Nite by Mark Black. The song is also available on the new CD from R. Mark Black, Make Your Mark.
Spice Of Life debuted mid-week SOS, with the title track handled by the Randy Clay Band. Two songs from the release were highlighted during the week of SOS, Six Pack by
The Night Move Band and Hearts by crooner J.D. Cash. One of the more popular
songs during Deejay Throwdown was Love's Gonna Come My Way. The song made
its way into the Spice Of Life track listing.
The new Embers album came to life during SOS. The release, called Together, not only carries their hot hit, Be With The
One You Love, but an array of new material including the hit-to-be from Tim Cashion and Craig Woolard, Everything.
In addition to being a part of Spice Of Life, Rev. Bubba D. Liverence & The Cornhole
Prophets' Be My Sugar was released on the new album, Chicks Dig Me
Patman and Robin Records had an album release party for the
new compilation, Tranquil Bay. The album was dedicated to the memory Dip
Ferrell aka Billy Jeffords, who we lost in 2017. In addition to Tranquil Bay
by Dip Ferrell & The Trutones, the album is highlighted by songs from Rick Strickland, Lesa Hudson, Vance Kennedy,
the Carolina Coast Band, The Swingin' Medallions and many other talented groups and individuals.
